Jake began practising meditation in 1995.
He spent many months on silent retreat and completed a three-year Dharma teacher training with Christina Feldman. Since 2007, Jake has led retreats in the Insight Meditation tradition at Gaia House and other centres around the UK and elsewhere in Europe. He has also trained as a teacher of mindfulness-based approaches at Bangor university and has led eight-week mindfulness courses since 2012.
He now teaches with a range of organisations including Bodhi College, London Insight Meditation, the Mindfulness Network, Brussels Mindfulness, and the European network of Associations of Mindfulness Based Approaches. Jake is a mentor on the mindfulness training programme run by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. He has also led mindfulness workshops for the University of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire NHS Trust and other public and private sector organisations. Jake is based in Nottingham where he teaches mindfulness courses for the general public and leads the philosophy modules for people training with Bahia Yoga.
Jake has trained at Bangor University as a teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and is registered with the UK Network of Mindfulness Teachers. A former college teacher, he also has Masters degrees in Philosophy and Buddhist Studies.
